Domination may as well be called 'Summon Andromedon.' Void Rift was great for clumped enemies, especially organics, as they can go insane if hit, and inspire/statis are very powerful clutch abilities. Void Rift, Domination, Stasis, and Inspire were the abilities that provided the most for me. My 'main' squad make up was 1 Blademaster (for maximum reaping) 1 Scout (for insane single target damage and sneaky scouting) 1 Gunslinger (for efficient clean up/single target) 1 Heavy Gunner (Shredder) 1 Combat Specialist (For mech clean up/Support) and 1 Psi Op (for everything but single target damage essentially.) They don't have great damage output on single targets, but their control can be insane. I found the sweet spot was 1 Psi Operative gradually becoming an OP machine. Dominations became 100% success against enemies like Andromedons, and the other abilities were great for panicking/MCing targets or getting a huge AOE off on some dudes.īut the amount of time it takes to train a PO into a Magus with all the great abilities, combined with the fact that only 2 training slots are available, makes it hard for me to imagine more than 2 Psi Operatives being a good idea in a campaign. I was seeing pretty infrequent success at first, but during the end game the PO became pretty damn OP. I believe they get some of their psi offense stat during training, but the success chance on their attacks sky rockets with each amp upgrade. Because of this you may want to leave your PO at home until he gets abilities like Inspire or Domination to make him really worth the slot. During their very long training (I had an engineer staffed in the Psi Labs during the entirety, which helped) they become the squad member that you just don't want to take any risks with, because if they get hit, they get set back pretty hard. They don't get XP from kills, so an injured Psi Operative is painful. That is definitely the danger with them, though.

And the way they train ensures that as long as they don't get injured in the field, they are always gaining abilities and perks, passively. POs feel like they go from bad or at least below average to OP once their Tier 2 Psi Amp is acquired. Just finished a playthrough that involved Psi Operatives.
